Faced with the imminent disappearance of rebates at the pump, the CEO of TotalEnergies said he was not closing the door to new aid for motorists.

On November 16, the government rebate at the pump fell from 30 to 10 cents and that of TotalEnergies fell from 20 to 10 cents. Aid that will disappear by the end of December.

Faced with the imminent end of these rebates, the government has announced a floor on targeted aid, only intended for large rollers. Even if the project is still vague, according to Emmanuel Macron, this aid could take the form of “reimbursements for the kilometers” traveled.

For his part, the CEO of TotalEnergie, invited this Thursday evening on LCI, said not to close the door to a new form of assistance for motorists. “I understand that the government is imagining a new targeted scheme for the people who need their cars the most,” he said. “We will see, depending on the government, if we have to accompany these French people”.

TotalEnergies “looks, depending on the season, at the various energies where we can help the French,” added the CEO. Regarding gasoline, “we started in February last year, we will see what we do depending on what the state wants to do”, especially in “spring”.
