A terrible road accident occurred this Monday evening on the N-260, in Avinyonet de Puigventos, near Figueres (Catalonia, Spain). According to the Diari de Girona, a collision between two cars left two dead at 9:30 p.m. The two victims, a 54-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman, occupants of the same vehicle, are from Figueres.
Upon arriving at the scene, the Mossos d’esquadra – the Catalan police – found no one in the second vehicle involved. Five patrols were then requisitioned to find this person.
After hours of searching, the fugitive was found at a gas station near the crash site on Tuesday morning. Injured, this 41-year-old Dutchman would have fled on foot after the shock.
Since the beginning of the year, 141 people have died in road accidents in Catalonia.
