The press conference for “Miss France 2023” almost turned into a settling of accounts between Sylvie Tellier and Alexia Laroche-Joubert. The former president of the Miss France committee and the president of the Miss France company had an electric spat with journalists, which risks reigniting rumors of a falling out between the two women.
Since Sylvie Tellier announced her departure from the Miss France committee to embark on new projects, many rumors claim that his decision is linked to disagreements with Alexia Laroche-Joubert. An idea largely denied by the two women over the weeks, but which does not seem so improbable given their lively exchange during the press conference for “Miss France 2023”.

A cordial agreement… apparently
It all started well though. After the traditional presentations of the novelties of this edition, the former Miss France joked that she had “a nine millimeter (a weapon, editor’s note) hidden under the table” to defend herself against Alexia Laroche-Joubert. A humorous way to address the so-called disagreements between the two womenwho opened the conference by reaffirming the mutual respect they had for each other.
Sylvie Tellier took the opportunity to reaffirm that she left of her own free will, with a desire to embark on new projects, which she prefers not to talk about for the moment. No question for her to suggest that she has been put in the closet, after years of good and loyal service. But everything changed following a small spade launched by Alexia Laroche-Joubert about her involvement.
“You upset me”: Sylvie Tellier responds sharply to Alexia Laroche-Joubert
When a journalist complimented the way the show’s structure had evolved since Sylvie Tellier’s arrival on the committee, Alexia Laroche-Joubert replied: “Sylvie wasn’t working on the show, she was working on the competition.” A sentence that visibly offended the main interested party, who retorted: “What do you mean, I didn’t work on the show? I was the general manager of the company, so I worked on the show. I can’t leave you say that. I was working on the show, and I did it for 17 years, thank you.”
To which the president of the Miss France company replied: “But you weren’t working on the production of the show!” The tone quickly rose, to such an extent that Sylvie Tellier ended up taking Frederic Gilbert, the artistic producer of the show, to witness him to ask his opinion. He has taken his side.
She needs more consideration
Finally, Alexia Laroche-Joubert declared, in an attempt to calm things down, “Sorry if I upset you”, before shouting “I’m sorry!!”, while her interlocutor explained: “You upset me because that a while ago I have great regard for you, but you also have to have regard for the work that I have done for 17 years.” A tense exchange that hurts the narrative that the two women would get along wonderfully…
