France is betting heavily on gas and coal-fired power stations, which are currently running at more than 10 GW, which is one of the highest daily production levels for gas and coal over the past 5 years.
This is to offset weak nuclear output and maintain strong exports to the UK to help Britain keep the lights on as northern Europe runs out of wind.
