Are motorists satisfied with the purchase of their new car? This is the question asked in a new study carried out by the American organization JD Power, always a benchmark for data compilations on the reliability of cars on the overseas market. As every year, the organization delivered the results of its initial customer satisfaction survey (Sales Satisfaction Index), conducted among 36,879 customers in the country who bought a new car between March and May 2022. Conducted between July September 2022, the study reveals data that highlights Alfa Romeo.
According to the study, it is indeed the Alfa Romeo brand that comes first among the premium brands whose customers are the most satisfied with their buying experience from the brand’s dealership. With a score of 833, the Milan manufacturer is ahead of Porsche (831), Lexus (819) and Cadillac (812). Mercedes is only eighth (810), BMW is ninth (808) and Audi is even below the general average with a score of 792. Volvo does even worse (788).
Buick first among generalists
With a score of 825, Buick dominates among general manufacturers but the brand remains behind Alfa Romeo. In the ranking of general brands, Dodge and Subaru complete the podium and Volkswagen is below the general average, as are Hyundai and Kia. It should be noted, however, that the results of this study are very different from those of JDPower, which is interested in customer satisfaction over the first months or years of ownership of their car, where Korean and Japanese manufacturers come out on top more often.
